Privacy Policy

Short version: We don't collect anything.

What we collect

Nothing. Zero. Nada.

I Hate Tabs is a browser extension that stores everything locally on your device. It does not connect to any external server, does not send telemetry, does not phone home, and does not require an account.

Data storage

All saved tabs and sessions are stored using your browser's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.

Website analytics

This website may use privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible or Umami) that do not use cookies, do not track individuals, and do not collect personal data. We only see aggregate page view counts.

Cookies

This website does not use cookies.

Permissions

The extension requests only the minimum permissions needed to function:

  • tabs — to read and save your open tabs
  • storage — to persist your saved sessions locally
  • activeTab — to access the current tab when saving
  • contextMenus — for right-click menu integration

Third-party services

The extension is distributed via the Chrome Web Store. Google's privacy policy applies to the store and download process. We don't control or have access to Google's data.
